The Pontiff is scheduled to hold a vigil with young people in Plaza de Lima on the evening of June 6th. The following day, Sunday, June 7th, he will preside over a mass in the iconic Plaza de Cibeles, coinciding with the Corpus Christi feast. These two events in Madrid are part of a broader itinerary that will also include visits to the Canary Islands and Barcelona.
Before the vigil begins in Plaza de Lima, the Pope will tour the surrounding area in the Popemobile to greet pilgrims. The celebration will feature active participation from young people, a speech from the Pontiff, and will conclude with Eucharistic Adoration.
On Sunday, June 7th, at 9:30 AM, Leo XIV will officiate the mass in Cibeles. Afterward, a Eucharistic procession is planned for nearby areas, also led by the Pope. News of his presence in Cibeles had already been announced last Saturday during the IV Resurrection Festival in Madrid, where the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, José Cobo, read a message from the Pope encouraging young people to prepare for the encounter.
“"Life with Christ is worthwhile."
Following his stay in Madrid, the Pope's journey will continue to the Canary Islands. On Thursday, June 11th, he will preside over a mass at the Gran Canaria Stadium, and on Friday, June 12th, he will celebrate another mass at the Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, marking the end of his visit to Spain, as confirmed by the Spanish Episcopal Conference.
