Spring allergies are intensifying in the Community of Madrid, with high concentrations of grass and olive pollen expected this Thursday and Friday. This situation particularly affects individuals with rhinitis, asthma, or respiratory sensitivity.
According to the Palinocam Network, grass pollen will reach high levels in municipalities such as Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Aranjuez, Coslada, Getafe, and Las Rozas, as well as in areas of Madrid capital like Arganzuela, Salamanca, and Ciudad Universitaria. In Collado Villalba, the incidence will be moderate.
Olive pollen will also see a significant increase, with a high risk in locations like Alcalá, Alcobendas, Aranjuez, and Getafe, and in some Madrid neighborhoods. Conversely, areas such as Las Rozas, Ciudad Universitaria, and Collado Villalba will register lower values.
Adding to these allergens is the presence of plantain, with significant levels detected in Alcobendas and Getafe.
In light of this scenario, Health authorities emphasize the importance of minimizing pollen exposure and adhering to prescribed medical treatments. Recommended measures include avoiding green areas during central hours, driving with windows closed, using sunglasses or masks, and frequent face and hand washing. The use of air filters at home and in vehicles can also help reduce pollen presence in enclosed spaces.
