The incident began on the morning of Friday, May 15, when a SUMMA 112 health unit responded to a minor who had suffered a scooter accident on Avenida del Plantío in Coslada. During the assistance, medical personnel determined that the child had a cognitive disability that prevented him from providing personal identification or contact information for his family, thus activating the child protection protocol.
The CIMACC 091 room dispatched the GAC unit from San Blas of the National Police, whose officers immediately responded. The police officers, trained in such situations, demonstrated a particularly humane, patient, and committed approach, building trust with the child and eliciting the few indications he could offer.
The GAC unit from San Blas undertook intensive efforts, coordinating with the Local Police of Coslada, the Municipal Police of Madrid, and the CIMACC 091 room, to locate his guardians. They also checked for recent missing person reports of minors with similar characteristics.
Thanks to the agents' persistence and the collaboration among all involved services, it was confirmed that the minor's mother had reported him missing that same morning at the Local Police station in Mejorada del Campo.
Subsequently, the Municipal Police of Madrid transported the child to the Local Police of Coslada facilities, where he was safely reunited with his mother. The doctor in charge of the SUMMA health unit personally expressed her gratitude to the GAC agents for their "extraordinary effort" in locating the child's legal guardians.
