The program will also include a preliminary activity on April 25 with the Mahou Urban Art Talent Contest, where young artists will intervene on shop windows and doors in the neighborhood. Artists participating in the main festival will compete for cash prizes awarded by an independent jury, and a public award will also be given through popular vote.
The Pinta Malasaña festival is supported by Mahou Cinco Estrellas and sponsored by the paint company Pebeo, which will supply materials. Collaboration with Creative Campus of the European University will allow its students to develop a collective work. Organized by Madrid Street Art Project and the local newspaper Somos Malasaña, the event aims to foster artistic creation and boost commerce and hospitality in Madrid's Central District, with the backing of the Madrid City Council.
