For twelve vibrant hours, from morning to late afternoon, a hundred artists will create live interventions in various spaces provided by residents, institutions, and businesses in the Malasaña neighborhood. This event, considered Madrid's largest urban art festival, is an essential date for those who enjoy live creation.
The selected artists, hailing from different parts of Spain and countries such as Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Brazil, and China, were chosen from over 500 proposals. They will compete for cash prizes awarded by an independent jury, in addition to an award decided by popular vote from the attending public.
A notable new feature for the 2026 edition is that the festival will have a venue at the Museum of History of Madrid, located on Fuencarral Street, strengthening its connection with the city's cultural heritage. The other main information point will be in the Plaza del Dos de Mayo.
The festival will also offer a preview on Saturday, April 25, with the Mahou Urban Art Talent Contest, where young artists will display their ideas on the windows and doors of Malasaña bars. The event is supported by Mahou Cinco Estrellas, the paint brand Pebeo, Creative Campus of the Universidad Europea, the Madrid Street Art Project collective, the local newspaper Somos Malasaña, Montana Colors, and the Madrid City Council through the Centro District Board.
Pinta Malasaña aims to promote artistic creation in an open, participatory, and inclusive way, fostering the neighborhood's fabric in collaboration with the Vive Malasaña Merchants Association and the Malasaña Hoteliers Association. It is a celebration of culture and color for all art lovers.
