The 48th edition of the Zurich Rock 'n' Roll Running Series Madrid marathon, held this Sunday, required medical attention for 244 people, with 24 hospital transfers and one runner in serious condition due to heatstroke.

During the day, temperatures in the capital exceeded 25 degrees Celsius, contributing to most incidents being heat-related, including dizziness, fainting, exhaustion, and cramps.
The most serious case involved a 50-year-old runner who suffered heatstroke and collapsed during the race. They were transferred to the Colón Advanced Medical Post, where they were intubated and stabilized before being evacuated to Hospital Clínico San Carlos in serious condition.

"Most of the problems were related to the heat: dizziness, fainting, exhaustion, and cramps."
