The Community of Madrid has activated an orange alert this Monday due to an extreme heatwave that is expected to bring maximum temperatures between 38 and 40 degrees.

The State Meteorological Agency has raised the alert level following three consecutive days of rising temperatures. This Monday is considered one of the most intense days of the current heatwave affecting the region.
The orange alert indicates a significant risk due to high temperatures. In many parts of the region, thermometers are expected to reach between 39 and 40 degrees, while other areas will see highs around 38 degrees. Atmospheric stability currently prevails across Madrid.
In addition to daytime highs, authorities are monitoring nighttime minimums. There is a possibility of 'torrid nights', where temperatures remain very high throughout the early hours, impacting rest across various parts of the region.
While clear skies are expected, the forecast includes the possibility of clouds developing from midday onwards. Isolated showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out, particularly in the Sierra, which could occasionally extend to nearby areas.
