The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated an orange alert throughout the Community of Madrid for Monday, between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM, due to forecasts of maximum temperatures that could reach 42 degrees.

Meteorological forecasts indicate that the highest values will be recorded in the Metropolitan and Henares areas, as well as in the South and Vegas regions, where thermometers could reach 42ºC. In the Sierra, maximum temperatures are expected to be around 37ºC.
Minimum temperatures will also rise, ranging between 24 and 26 degrees in the southwest of the region. In the rest of the territory, except for the Sierra, lows will remain above 22 degrees.
The sky will be mostly clear with intervals of high clouds and developing clouds from midday. Haze is expected, and there is a possibility of isolated dry thunderstorms in the far west and in Sierra areas during the afternoon.
Winds will be light from the east, tending to turn southeast in the afternoon. Aemet does not rule out very strong gusts associated with possible storms in the affected areas.
By municipalities, maximum temperatures are predicted between 26 and 40 degrees in Madrid; between 23 and 42 degrees in Alcalá de Henares; between 22 and 42 degrees in Aranjuez; between 23 and 37 degrees in Collado Villalba; between 26 and 41 degrees in Getafe; and between 24 and 40 degrees in Navalcarnero.
