The Community of Madrid has launched the 'Plan Vive Sanitario', an initiative aimed at facilitating access to affordable rental housing for healthcare professionals under 35 years of age within the Madrid public system.

The President of the Community of Madrid announced the implementation of this initiative, which seeks to "attract and retain medical talent" by offering housing near hospitals and healthcare centers. The goal is to address the difficulty young healthcare professionals face at the beginning of their careers in accessing housing under affordable conditions.
The first project under this plan will take place in San Sebastián de los Reyes, where the construction of nearly 1,000 homes is planned through a new tender for the 'Plan Vive'. Of these, approximately 120 units will be specifically reserved for healthcare sector professionals.
The regional government believes that this measure, by fostering the establishment of these professionals in the region, will contribute to improving the coverage of positions, ensuring continuity of care, and enhancing the quality of public health services.
This initiative is part of the Housing Shock Plan promoted by the Community of Madrid, which aims to develop over 70,000 homes with some form of public protection during the current legislative term. Of these, 14,000 are part of the 'Plan Vive', with a particular focus on the southern metropolitan area.
