Trains on the C-4 line will only operate as far as Villaverde Alto station, requiring passengers to transfer to reach Atocha. This measure will be in effect from Monday, April 6, until Sunday, April 19, applied from 9:40 PM until the end of service for certain trains.
Trains originating from Parla will terminate their journey at Villaverde Alto, and passengers will need to transfer to the C-5 line to continue towards Atocha. The same dynamic will apply in the opposite direction, towards Parla, as a single track will be in use between Villaverde Bajo and Atocha during these hours.
These modifications are due to infrastructure improvement works and also impact lines C-4a and C-4b, branches of the C-4 that diverge from Cantoblanco Universidad station. Journeys destined for Fuencarral, Cantoblanco Universidad, El Goloso, Tres Cantos, Colmenar Viejo, Universidad P. Comillas, Valdelasfuentes, and Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes will see reduced frequency from 9:40 PM, with only some trains operating to these stations. However, the route between Parla and Villaverde Alto, which includes Getafe Sector 3, Getafe Centro, and Las Margaritas stations, will maintain normal operation.
These closures are in addition to existing ones in the Cercanías Madrid network. Since February 16 and until May 7, the C-3 line has limited its circulation from 9:30 PM until the end of service due to maintenance work, only reaching Villaverde Bajo station. Passengers traveling to Aranjuez must transfer at Villaverde Bajo from the C-4 line.
The C-5 line, meanwhile, returned to normal service this April 5, two days earlier than expected, after completing a phase of Adif's works to expand the capacity of Atocha Cercanías station, benefiting lines C-3 and C-4.
