The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has reviewed the proposed award of the contract for the technical feasibility study of the Madrileña del Suroeste Highway. This action is crucial for advancing the planning of this new road.
The future road, with an estimated length of over 41 kilometers, will link the M-503 and M-407 roads. Its objective is to strengthen communications between the west and south of the region, also facilitating connections with major road arteries such as the A-5, A-6, and A-4.
The technical feasibility study is an essential document that will define the infrastructure's characteristics and assess its suitability before proceeding to the next project phases.
This new highway will directly impact the mobility and road safety of a total of nine municipalities in Madrid: Valdemorillo, Villanueva de la Cañada, Brunete, Sevilla la Nueva, Navalcarnero, El Álamo, Batres, Serranillos del Valle, and Griñón.
The road corridor will improve the connection between these towns and their link to the main arteries of the regional network, promoting more agile travel and better communication between the west and south of the community.
This initiative is part of the Community of Madrid's strategy to modernize and strengthen its regional road network, aiming to reduce travel times, increase road safety, improve connections between populations, and boost economic development and territorial cohesion in the southwest of the region.
