The Community of Madrid has announced the construction of a new access to the Estadio Metropolitano Metro station, on Line 7, with an investment of almost 9 million euros to facilitate passenger transit during mass events.

The project, presented by the regional minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, aims to optimize the entry and exit of travelers, especially on match days for Atlético de Madrid and other events. This improvement will benefit both residents of the San Blas-Canillejas district and attendees of major events.
The intervention, with a budget close to 9 million euros and an estimated execution period of one year, will include a 110-meter ramp. This ramp is designed to improve accessibility and streamline passenger flow, reducing crowds during peak times.
Additionally, a second concourse of more than 1,200 square meters will be created, equipped with 26 control points, eight escalators, and five elevators. This new space will reinforce the station's capacity and significantly enhance the traveler experience, connecting directly to the platforms.

"Thanks to this initiative, Metro will have a second concourse of more than 1,200 square meters, which will include 26 control points, eight escalators, and five new elevators that will connect to the platforms."

The design of the new access has also been coordinated with the development of the future Sports City, which is being built in the vicinity of the stadium. In this way, the infrastructure will not only serve attendees of sports and cultural events but also users of this new complex, strengthening the connectivity of the area.
