The operation was carried out as part of the fiscal protection duties performed by the police force in coordination with the Tax Agency. During routine selective checks at the airport facilities, agents identified an air cargo container that showed signs of tampering, despite not being listed on the official cargo manifest.
Following a thorough inspection of the packages, seventy rectangular bundles containing the narcotic substance were discovered. Initial investigations suggest the drugs were introduced using the rip-off method, which involves hiding illicit material within legal cargo without the knowledge of the legitimate owners.
This technique requires complex logistical coordination and the involvement of collaborators at various points along the transport chain to retrieve the goods at the destination. The intervention has successfully removed nearly 80 kilograms of high-purity cocaine from circulation, preventing its distribution.
