Eight people were injured to varying degrees this Sunday following a spectacular traffic accident in Madrid's San Blas-Canillejas district, where an VTC, a private car, and a National Police patrol vehicle collided.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of May 17 at the intersection of Alcalá street and Miguel Yuste street. The force of the impact necessitated a rapid deployment of emergency and security services to secure the area, which became partially blocked.
Personnel from the Madrid City Council Firefighters had to intervene to secure the site and rescue a victim trapped within the deformed structure of one of the involved private vehicles.
Paramedics from SAMUR-Civil Protection provided first aid to the occupants of the three cars. A total of eight individuals were transported to hospitals. The most seriously injured patient sustained a trauma consistent with a possible hip fracture, requiring careful immobilization after being rescued by firefighters. The remaining individuals suffered less severe injuries or contusions from the strong impact.
Officers from the Madrid Municipal Police have taken charge of the investigation to determine the causes of the accident and the drivers' responsibility in the collision.
