The spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Madrid Assembly has called for limits on housing ownership and consideration of expropriation for those with a large number of properties, arguing for urgent intervention in the rental market.

During the control session last Thursday in the Plenary, the Más Madrid representative highlighted the existence of 10,000 owners in the region who possess ten or more homes. This situation, according to her statement, contrasts with the difficulties many families face in affording rent and making ends meet.

"No one should own 10 houses, no one, neither 10 nor 3. There is no right to own 10 houses."

In this context, the political group has emphasized the importance of approving the royal decree promoted by Sumar, which seeks to extend rental contracts due to the international situation. They have also demanded effective regulation of rental prices to prevent unsustainable increases.
The spokesperson argued that the accumulation of housing by a few means that many families lack a home of their own. In her words, “for a landlord to get rich living off rents, there are 10 tenants becoming poor paying rent.”
Finally, a rally has been announced for next Sunday in front of the headquarters of a political party, aiming to pressure them to vote in favor of the rental extension. The Más Madrid representative concluded that opposing this measure is “being in favor of raising people's rent” and “reaching into families' pockets.”
