The operation, named Rurejo-1, has led to the clarification of a series of crimes against commercial establishments and vehicles. The total economic impact of these criminal acts amounts to approximately 350,000 euros, including damages, stolen goods, and money.
The detainee is accused of 18 robberies in establishments, 22 vehicle thefts, ten counts of damage, four robberies inside vehicles, and one continuous offense against road safety. The investigation indicates that the individual used advanced technological means to break into and steal vehicles.
The investigation began in late 2025 after agents detected a significant increase in commercial robberies and, simultaneously, a rise in reports of car thefts. The ROCA Team of the Tarancón Company concluded that both types of crimes were related and allegedly committed by the same person.
The investigated individual employed technical devices to decode frequencies and access vehicles. Subsequently, he used these cars to travel to different towns and forcibly enter commercial premises, primarily stealing money from cash registers.
The Civil Guard has successfully solved crimes committed in various towns in Cuenca and in neighboring provinces such as Toledo and Madrid. The final phase of the operation took place in Toledo, where officers intercepted the suspect while he was driving without ever having obtained a driving license.
During the intervention, 19 passenger vehicles and a significant amount of specialized equipment were recovered. Among the seized items were diagnostic tools, frequency decoders, clothing allegedly used in the robberies, keys, documentation, and vehicle parts intended for the second-hand market.
The total value of the recovered vehicles, seized material, stolen money, and damages caused to establishments is estimated at around 350,000 euros.
The detainee, along with the compiled proceedings and recovered items, has been handed over to the Civil and Instruction Section of the Court of Instance Plaza number 2 of Tarancón, which is overseeing the investigation.
