The day on Friday, May 1 will begin at 12:30 PM with a recital by the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM). Under the direction of Luis Miguel Méndez Chaves, the ensemble will perform a program dedicated to the most emblematic titles of Spanish lyric genre, including works by composers such as Francisco Asenjo Barbieri, Tomás Bretón, and Federico Chueca.
The ORCAM's repertoire will feature iconic pieces such as the prelude to La verbena de la Paloma, the pasacalle from El año pasado por agua, and the barquilleros' chorus from Agua, azucarillos y aguardiente. ORCAM, which has been under the artistic direction of Alondra de la Parra since 2024, thus celebrates over three decades of history as a benchmark for traditional and avant-garde repertoire in Spain.
The program will resume at 7:30 PM with a concert by Madrid-born artist Bely Basarte. Known for her large following on YouTube and for being chosen by Disney for the soundtrack of Beauty and the Beast, Basarte will present a live performance characterized by the honesty of her autobiographical lyrics.
Basarte arrives at Puente del Rey with her new album, Amor letal (2025), a work that explores resilience through organic pop and electronic music. Additionally, the singer has linked this musical project to her literary side with the release of her first book, La vida es esto, amor, where she delves into the personal stories behind her songs.
The day will conclude at 9:30 PM with the young singer-songwriter Judeline. At just 23 years old and after performing on global stages like the Coachella festival, the artist from Cádiz will bring her acclaimed project to Madrid, blending pop and electronic music with the folkloric heritage of Caños de Meca.
Accompanied by a band that includes viola, cello, and choreographed movement direction, Judeline will perform tracks from her debut album Bodhiria, which already boasts over 80 million streams. The audience will also enjoy her new EP, Verano Saudade, where the artist breaks linguistic and genre barriers by collaborating with figures like Dellafuente or Amaia, moving between bossa nova, funk carioca, and club sounds. Access to all activities on the Puente del Rey esplanade will be free until full capacity is reached.
