Madrid under orange alert: temperatures to approach 41 degrees this Tuesday

The State Meteorological Agency forecasts extreme highs in several areas of the region, with tropical nights and the presence of haze.

The Community of Madrid will remain under an orange alert this Tuesday due to high temperatures, with highs potentially reaching 41 degrees in various parts of the region, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The alert will be active between 1:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

The highest temperatures are expected in the Sur and Vegas regions, where thermometers could reach 40 degrees, and even 41 in some towns. In the Metropolitan and Henares areas, the predicted highs are up to 39 degrees, while in the Sierra, temperatures will not exceed 37 degrees.
The nights will also offer little respite, with minimum temperatures expected to be between 24 and 26 degrees in large areas of the center and southwest of the region. In most of the territory, minimums will exceed 22 degrees, with the exception of some points in the northern half of the Sierra.
The day will be characterized by mostly clear skies, although intervals of high clouds and developing clouds are expected in the afternoon. The presence of haze (calima) will also be noticeable. The wind will be light, with a predominance of night breezes and a southeast component during the central hours of the day.
By municipalities, Aemet forecasts temperatures between 25 and 40 degrees in Madrid capital; between 22 and 41 in Alcalá de Henares; between 24 and 41 in Aranjuez and Navalcarnero; between 24 and 40 in Getafe; and between 22 and 38 degrees in Collado Villalba.
