Alcalá de Henares Celebrates the Procession of the Holy Children

Hundreds of residents and visitors gather in the historic center to honor the city's patron saints in an emotional religious event.

Alcalá de Henares experienced one of the most emotional moments of its Patron Saint Festivals with the Solemn Mass and Procession in honor of Saints Justo and Pastor, drawing numerous residents and visitors to the Historic Center.

The mayor, Judith Piquet, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation and the Board of Brotherhoods, participated in the Eucharist officiated by Bishop Antonio Prieto Lucena, before joining the traditional procession that paraded through the main streets of the historic center.
The procession saw a large turnout of locals and visitors paying homage to the city's patron saints on an afternoon marked by devotion and tradition. Afterwards, the mayor thanked the organization and the residents for their participation in keeping this deeply rooted tradition alive.
The Patron Saint Festivals continue with a comprehensive program of cultural, recreational, and family activities, blending tradition, leisure, and music, with the historic center remaining the main stage for the celebrations.
This weekend's program includes the exhibition "Pincel y Cincel" featuring works by various artists until August 16th at the Quinta de Cervantes. Friday, August 7th, offers games, creative dance workshops, a guided tour of the Antiquarium of the Roman City of Complutum, a foam party, and dancing with the MARLEN orchestra and DJ DEMON.
Saturday, August 8th, features more games and the guided tour, along with a parade by the "LOS PEQUEÑANTES" Young Giants and Big Heads Association, a magic show by MORFEO, a charity distribution of migas, and a concert by METROLÉ followed by DJ ALEX BELLOT.
Sunday, August 9th, includes the guided tour "Rimas y Leyendas" (Rhymes and Legends), a chess tournament, water games, a charity paella distribution, a foam party, a magic show by MORFEO, and concerts by NAIF BAND and METROPOP.
