The Madrid City Council has unveiled plans to transform the site of the former Aquatic Center into a multifunctional complex for sports, entertainment, culture, and education, with an investment exceeding 360 million euros.

This initiative, funded and executed by Barsento S.L.U., aims to revitalize the northeast area of Madrid with a diverse offering for all audiences, complementing the city's ongoing urban transformation. The project is expected to be operational by the end of 2030.

"With this project, Madrid will become one of the great artist residences in the world, a major music hub."

The new facilities will be structured around three main areas. A covered auditorium for concerts and cultural events, with a capacity for over 20,000 people, will be the heart of the complex, positioning Madrid as a global center for live music.
Additionally, an educational campus for more than 2,300 students will be established, offering higher education and vocational training in health management, sports, and music and entertainment industry technology. A sports center with indoor and outdoor pools, capable of accommodating 9,000 users, will complement the leisure and sports offerings in the San Blas-Canillejas district.
This development, covering an area of 66,843 m², will solidify San Blas-Canillejas as a benchmark in sports and entertainment. The public domain concession, awarded to Barsento S.L.U., will last 75 years and generate over 141 million euros in revenue for the City Council, while also including sports programs and scholarships for vulnerable students.
