A group of over 40 teachers undergoing internships in Madrid will demonstrate this Wednesday before the Ministry of Education due to 'fail' grades resulting from correctable administrative errors in their online training.

The Dignified Internships Platform – Madrid Teachers has called for a protest this Wednesday, June 10th, in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Education of the Community of Madrid. The reason for the protest is the situation of more than 40 teachers in their internship phase who, despite having favorable evaluations, are facing a 'fail' grade due to correctable administrative errors in the management of their online training.
As detailed by the platform, those affected have met all essential requirements of the internship period, including in-person sessions, Virtual Classroom activities, and approval from the Educational Inspectorate, tutors, and the management teams of their centers. However, the omission of a single questionnaire in the Virtual Classroom is being used by the administration as a reason to invalidate the entire process.
The teachers warn that this measure would multiply the average of previous years by ten and sets a 'dangerous' precedent. If the negative grade is confirmed, professionals would be forced to repeat the entire internship period, losing their permanent position and being penalized in the process of selecting placements for the next academic year.
From the Dignified Internships Platform, they denounce a 'highly fragmented' training structure, with multiple questionnaires and deadlines that complicate management in a context of high teaching and bureaucratic workload. Those affected recall that the administration itself recently committed to reducing this bureaucracy in the latest sectoral agreement, but point out that, in practice, they continue to face procedures that do not reflect their overall professional performance.
Furthermore, the teachers claim compliance with the principle of proportionality, arguing that in other educational procedures, deadlines for correcting formal errors are contemplated. In this regard, they denounce that some of the registered incidents were caused by technical failures of the Community of Madrid's own online platform.
Given this situation, the group submitted a letter on May 17th to the Minister of Education requesting the establishment of an extraordinary period or a recovery module to complete pending procedures without irreversible consequences. The protest on June 10th at 6:30 PM aims, in addition to demanding an immediate solution, to ensure that in future calls, passing the internship depends exclusively on pedagogical performance and not on the management of administrative procedures.
