The Madrid City Council has shown solidarity following a fire that affected the Burgos bus depot, sending 40 EMT buses to help restore public transport services in the Castilian city.

The Spanish capital has decided to temporarily provide 40 gas-powered buses to Burgos. This measure aims to mitigate the impact of the incident, which rendered 39 vehicles inoperable, representing half of Burgos' municipal fleet. The dispatch was agreed upon by the mayors of both cities, both members of the Popular Party.
In addition to the buses, which will be sent this Friday, the Madrid City Council will also provide other material resources. These include vans, a crane, spare parts, and specialized technical personnel to support the recovery of services in Burgos.

"EMT Madrid is an example of public service vocation to citizens, acting altruistically and in solidarity during emergencies that cause a serious disruption to mobility."

The Madrid council has emphasized its readiness to provide resources in emergency situations affecting other municipalities or regions. This collaboration has been demonstrated on previous occasions, such as during the DANA in Valencia or the floods that affected Toledo, showing a continuous commitment to mutual aid between administrations.
