The president of the Community of Madrid has defended the region's autonomy and spirit of freedom during the May 2nd commemoration at the Real Casa de Correos, emphasizing its role as the "engine of the country" and its rejection of any external control attempts.

During the institutional May 2nd event, the regional president described Madrid's society as a united "army" in defense of its freedom. In her speech, delivered at the Real Casa de Correos, she stated that the region "will not allow itself to be controlled by anything or anyone" and that any such attempt would be met with a "dignified and resounding response".
The autonomous leader emphasized that Madrid naturally aligns with the unity of the Nation and with societies that yearn to be free, as well as with those who stand up to "terror and arbitrary impositions". In this context, she highlighted that everyone's collaboration makes the region the "economic, political, and social engine of the country".

"Being free from political harassment and sectarianism has allowed Madrid residents to appreciate what works without complexes, in a community that encourages those who prosper, without envy or fear."

Furthermore, the president noted that Madrid does not waste time when provoked and is experiencing its "best moment" by not getting bogged down in "nationalism or identitarian ideologies". She also recalled that the Puerta del Sol recently became a symbol of freedom by hosting thousands of Venezuelans, and praised a society that "looks fear in the face" and honors victims of terrorism.
In the final part of her speech, the president expressed her concern about the current situation in Spain and the "administrative solitude" that, in her opinion, the Community of Madrid faces as the "capital region and gateway to the entire world". She underscored the region's heterogeneity and lamented the opportunities being lost under current circumstances.
Therefore, she urged a focus on state projects that promote infrastructure reforms, water distribution, incentives for medical professionals, transport improvements, attraction of foreign investments, and support for self-employed individuals, as well as addressing the family crisis and low birth rates.
