Students in Early Childhood Education, Primary, and Special Education in public schools within the Community of Madrid will commence the 2026/27 academic year on September 7th. The following day, September 8th, will see the start of classes for students in Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Vocational Training, as well as for artistic and language studies.
Higher Artistic Studies will begin on September 9th, while Adult Education Centers and the first year of Plastic Arts and Design courses will commence on September 21st. The official calendar has been published in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).
Christmas holidays will run from December 23rd to January 10th, and the non-teaching period for Easter will take place between March 19th and 29th. Additionally, public holidays and non-teaching days have been established, including October 12th, November 2nd, December 7th and 8th, and February 12th and 15th.
The end of the academic year for most educational stages, including Early Childhood, Primary, Special Education, Secondary Education, and Vocational Training, is set for June 18th. First-year Baccalaureate students will also finish on this day, while second-year students will adjust their end dates according to the University Entrance Exam (PAU) and subsequent admission processes.
Nursery Schools and Children's Houses will extend their academic activities until July 31st.
