The astronomical phenomenon, which will be visible in total or partial form in 93 locations across the region, will begin at 7:30 PM and reach its peak around 8:32 PM, coinciding with sunset. To ensure a safe experience, the regional executive will distribute a total of 36,500 certified glasses, adding to the 20,000 units previously provided to schools and science fairs.
In the municipality of Buitrago del Lozoya, the regional government and the local City Council have organized the Eclipse Festival at the Riosequillo Pools Recreational Area. This event will feature educational activities, workshops, and cultural offerings for the whole family. Access will be free upon prior registration through the municipal website, with capacity limited to 3,000 people.
To ensure the protection of attendees, the Madrid 112 Security Agency will activate the Territorial Civil Protection Plan (PLATERCAM). The deployment will include reinforced resources for 112 and the Fire Department, as well as ensuring communications via the TETRA network in all participating municipalities.
Additionally, the Regional Transport Consortium will increase the frequency of lines with the highest expected demand. Given the risk of high temperatures, authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution in natural environments, requesting that they avoid damaging habitats and collect all waste generated during the day.
