During the May 1st commemoration, representatives of the PSOE in Madrid highlighted the work of the central government. A minister from the executive emphasized the commitment to defending peace, a just order, and citizens' rights, citing the recent summit of progressive leaders in Barcelona as an example.
The same minister pointed to Spain as a benchmark in protecting migrants' rights, combating climate change with cleaner and cheaper energy, and creating employment. He noted that the country has surpassed 22 million workers, with more stable jobs and improved wages.
“"Social justice is profitable, not just fair, and it generates economic growth."
Regionally, the minister warned that only one year remains for a "change in Madrid" to occur, allowing the Community to have a progressive government. He criticized the current administration, stating it works for "a few speculators" rather than the majority of citizens.
Meanwhile, the socialist spokesperson for the Madrid City Council highlighted the contribution of over 300,000 migrant workers to the labor market, who seek "dignity and coexistence." She contrasted the socialist model, based on "responsibility and dignity," with the one attributed to the opposition, characterized by "fear, criminalization, and division."
