The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, announced that the regional government has prepared 300,000 kilos of fodder, distributed across 20 trailers, and has arranged for 10 water tanks, each with a capacity of 1,000 liters. These resources will be provided to livestock farms affected by the fire as soon as conditions allow safe access to the affected zones.
To date, 14 livestock farms have requested this support, which is estimated to benefit approximately 1,000 animals, including cows, sheep, goats, and horses. Access to these farms has been facilitated with safety guarantees for people, allowing entry while firefighting efforts continue.
To ensure the security of these properties and prevent theft, it will be mandatory to present a document proving ownership of a valid livestock operation. Accepted documents include the livestock passbook, registration in the General Registry of Livestock Operations (REGA), or the application for the Common Agricultural Policy (PAC). This measure aims to strengthen access controls to the areas affected by the fire and prevent the impersonation of professional status.
Furthermore, several animals have been transferred to the Comprehensive Animal Reception Center (CIAAM) of the Community of Madrid. The regional government is maintaining close collaboration with animal welfare organizations in the affected municipalities to ensure the well-being of companion animals.
