The Madrid Planetarium has announced the call for entries for the sixth edition of its Short Novel Award, an initiative designed to foster literary creation centered on astronomy.

Coinciding with Book Day, this proposal's main objective is to promote writing and scientific knowledge, offering a platform for writers and enthusiasts. The submission period for works runs from April 24 to July 22.
Novels must be original, unpublished, and written in Spanish, having not previously won awards in other competitions. Each participant may submit a single short novel, and previous winners are not eligible to compete again.
While the theme is open, it is essential that astronomy and the universe constitute central elements of the narrative. As a notable new feature, this edition places special emphasis on the solar eclipses predicted for 2026, 2027, and 2028, and explicitly allows for science fiction works.

The competition offers two prizes: a first award of 3,000 euros and a second of 1,400 euros.

In previous editions, the contest has attracted up to fifty entries, consolidating its position as a significant meeting point between literature and scientific dissemination. The regulatory bases, application form, and all detailed information will be available from April 24.
