The Community of Madrid has opened applications for the 'Second Chance' scholarship program, aimed at young people seeking to resume their academic training, who can receive up to 2,800 euros.

This Thursday, June 18, the application period begins for the 'Second Chance' program scholarships, an initiative by the Community of Madrid aimed at young people wishing to resume their academic training. The call for applications, published in the Official Regional Gazette (BOCM), will be open until July 8.
The regional government is allocating an investment of 15 million euros to these grants, with the goal of enabling approximately 6,600 individuals who are currently neither studying nor working to obtain the professional qualifications they did not achieve previously.
Interested applicants must be registered with the National Youth Guarantee System and must not have had recent employment or educational activity. The scholarships can amount to up to 2,800 euros, distributed over 10 monthly installments.
Applications can be submitted online through the headquarters of the Consejería de Educación, Ciencia y Universidades in Madrid, or via the institutional website. In-person submission is also available at registry offices of the Community of Madrid and regional municipalities.
Educational centers will need to certify the course costs and a minimum attendance of 75% of the class hours. Scholarship awards will be based on the family unit's per capita income.
These grants will cover preparation for the exams to obtain the Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) title for individuals over 18 years old, specific training courses for access to Vocational Training (FP), Intermediate and Higher Level Vocational Training cycles, and professional programs aimed at obtaining Level 1 Professional Qualification Certificates.
