The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, visited the Legal Orientation Service (SOJ) in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, where 20 specialized consultations were carried out. An additional 52 consultations were conducted at the judicial headquarters in Navalcarnero.
The most common inquiries from residents relate to applications for public aid, insurance coverage, assessment of damages to homes and properties, consequences of business activity cessation, infrastructure damage, and emergency situations arising from the fires.
The extraordinary service, staffed by 12 lawyers, has extended its operating hours. Interested individuals can visit the SOJ of the Illustrious Bar Association of Madrid (ICAM) in Navalcarnero (Ronda de San Juan, 32-A) or in San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Calle Las Pozas, 145), Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Telephone assistance is also available during the same hours at 900 909 224 (Navalcarnero) and 900 909 220 (San Lorenzo de El Escorial).
Furthermore, the Community of Madrid has provided local councils with a new technical tool to help identify properties affected by the fires. This tool is a technical report from the Spanish College of Registrars that quickly identifies plots and buildings within the affected perimeter.
This resource, developed under a collaboration agreement, integrates registry information with mapping data from the European Copernicus program via the Emergency Registrars Portal, providing objective and continuously updated data. The analysis of the fires indicates a combined impact of approximately 27,000 hectares, 1,543 registered properties, and 2,475 buildings.
The Emergency Registrars Portal includes a geographic viewer to check if a specific property is damaged and offers registry information useful for citizens and administrations. As a measure to support those affected, the College of Registrars has made the necessary simple notes to prove ownership of affected structures free of charge for three months, reinforcing institutional collaboration to facilitate municipal recovery.
