Madrid Municipal Police officers saved the life of a 73-year-old man who suffered cardiac arrest on June 4th on Paseo de Yeserías street.

The swift intervention of a Madrid Municipal Police patrol was crucial in saving the life of a 73-year-old man who suffered cardiac arrest at his home. The incident occurred on June 4th, around 9:00 AM, on Paseo de Yeserías street, in the Arganzuela district.
The alert was triggered when a woman contacted the emergency number 112, reporting that her husband was unconscious and not breathing in bed. A police unit immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers found the man in critical condition, pulseless and rigid. After moving him to the floor, they immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers. Concurrently, they used their equipped automated external defibrillator (AED), administering a shock that successfully restored the patient's pulse.

The officers' rapid action and the use of the defibrillator were decisive in the man's recovery.

Shortly thereafter, SUMMA 112 paramedics arrived and continued medical care for approximately 45 minutes. They ultimately confirmed the man's full recovery, and he was transferred in stable condition.
