The Community of Madrid has announced the creation of a new access point at the Estadio Metropolitano station for Metro Line 7, aiming to optimize mobility and connectivity during sports and cultural events, benefiting residents of San Blas-Canillejas and fans.

The regional minister of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure for the Community of Madrid, Jorge Rodrigo, announced the project this Monday during a visit to the facilities. This initiative seeks to significantly improve service for residents of the San Blas-Canillejas district and Atlético de Madrid supporters, among other users.
The Community of Madrid plans to tender the project with a budget of nearly nine million euros and an execution period of one year. The work will include the construction of a 110-meter ramp, designed to facilitate user entry and exit and avoid typical congestion on conventional staircases.
In addition to the ramp, the Metro station will incorporate a second concourse spanning over 1,200 square meters, equipped with five elevators that will connect directly to the platforms. This design has been adapted to integrate with the Ciudad del Deporte project, which is being developed around the stadium, allowing its use by both visitors from this new space and those arriving directly at the stadium.

"Thanks to this initiative, Metro will have a second concourse of more than 1,200 square meters, which will include 26 turnstiles, eight escalators, and five new elevators that will connect to the platforms."
