The City Council of Torrejón de Ardoz has launched a conservation plan for public educational buildings during the summer period. The aim is to ensure that the facilities are in optimal condition, both in terms of safety and comfort, to welcome students, teachers, and staff at the beginning of the new school year.
The works, concentrated in the summer months to minimize disruption, include various actions. Repairs to roofs, pavement renewal, general painting, improvements in playgrounds, replacement of carpentry, and updates to electrical and plumbing systems are being carried out. Additionally, preventive maintenance interventions are performed to anticipate potential breakdowns.
One of the council's priorities is improving the climate control in the schools. Aware of the high summer temperatures, investments have been made to install more efficient systems and optimize thermal comfort in classrooms, adapting the schools to climatic conditions.
The schedule for these works is planned so that most interventions conclude before September. This way, students will return to renovated and improved facilities. These actions complement other municipal educational investments aimed at the progressive modernization of public centers.
These summer works have become a recurring initiative by the City Council, which takes advantage of the absence of academic activity to concentrate improvements. The goal is to maintain the infrastructure, used annually by thousands of students in the municipality, in good condition.
