The Community of Madrid has positioned itself as the Spanish region with the highest volume of European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan executed or tendered as of March 31, 2026.

According to data published by the PRTR Observatory of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), the region has mobilized a total of 2.371 billion euros. This figure places Madrid at the forefront of the country, surpassing other autonomous communities that, despite having a higher initial allocation in sectoral conferences, show a slower execution pace.
In relative terms, the regional administration has implemented 73% of the allocated resources. Furthermore, it stands out for its reach, reaching 121,438 unique recipients, the highest figure in all of Spain. The average amount per beneficiary is 15,821 euros, reflecting a widespread distribution of aid.
The management of these resources is mainly concentrated in three bodies: the Department of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, the Energy Foundation of the Community of Madrid, and the Canal de Isabel II. Priority areas of action include urban rehabilitation, sustainable mobility, water resource management, and the promotion of renewable energy.
