The project, developed in collaboration with the Pegasus Foundation, has an investment of 150,000 euros and aims to address the emotional gap often experienced by caregivers and family members, whose well-being directly influences the quality of life of the person with a disability.
The initiative, scheduled to launch between May 2026 and May 2027, is aimed at 60 families who are users of the regional administration's public network centers for people with disabilities. They will receive a completely free service, attended by a team of specialized professionals.
The Pegasus Foundation, established in 2017, is the chosen entity to carry out this program. With 50 professionals and a track record focused on addressing unmet needs within the disability support system, the foundation aligns with the program's objective of emphasizing the emotional impact on family members.
'What Nobody Tells You' is part of the Madrid Strategy for Attention to People with Disabilities Horizon 2028, a broader plan with an investment of 4.8 billion euros and 316 cross-cutting measures, which seeks a comprehensive approach to improve not only direct services but also the environment for people with disabilities.
This pilot program responds to a real and frequent need for accessible and free psychological support, recognizing that caring for those who care is essential for quality care and setting a precedent for other autonomous communities.
