The Community of Madrid has launched the call for academic-sports excellence scholarships, endowed with 262,500 euros, to reward students with outstanding grades and achievements in high-level competitions.

The Community of Madrid has this week opened the application period for its academic-sports excellence scholarships, aimed at over a hundred beneficiaries. The regional government thus seeks to recognize students with outstanding academic records who also achieve good results in high-level competitions. The deadline for submitting applications will be open until June 2nd and can be done through the official website of the Community of Madrid or via the Digital Account.
This program has a budget of 262,500 euros. Of this total, 40 scholarships will be for new entrants, while the remaining 85 will be awarded to students already enrolled in previous years. In both cases, the individual amount for each scholarship is 2,100 euros.
The requirements to access these grants include having completed official studies at a university or higher center for artistic education in the Community of Madrid during the current academic year, and meeting minimum grade point averages that will vary depending on the studies undertaken.
In addition to academic merits, beneficiaries must demonstrate a high level of competitiveness. This can include participation in European or World championships, winning medals in Spanish championships, ranking among the top eight in the official national ranking, or participating in top-tier leagues. The call also includes licensed referees or judges who have officiated in official national or top-level international tournaments.
Submitting applications through the Digital Account is presented as a more agile and faster option, allowing the process to be completed in a single click. This tool helps identify the appropriate aid model, both for those starting their first year of university and for those already enrolled in subsequent courses.
