The Community of Madrid, in collaboration with the Association of Official Tourism Guides (APIT), is launching a program of 470 guided tours on June 5th to explore the region's cultural, historical, and artistic heritage.

The initiative combines tours of the capital and Madrid municipalities with gastronomic experiences, aiming to present local history, heritage, and identity in a "dynamic and different" way. APIT highlights the "thematic breadth" and "quality of the tours," featuring both "major heritage icons" and "lesser-known spaces."
The president of APIT Madrid, Jesús Manuel Morón Nadador, noted the inclusion of "new interpretations of heritage, itineraries linked to literature, art, and daily life, as well as spaces that are usually outside the more conventional circuits."
Among the capital's routes are ‘Madrid Río: art, nature, and tradition along the Manzanares’, blending heritage, green spaces, and panoramic views, including the hermitage of San Antonio de la Florida with frescoes by Goya. Another offering is ‘El Retiro. Garden of Kings, open-air museum’, inviting a rediscovery of the iconic park through areas like Cuesta de Moyano, the Fallen Angel, and the Great Pond.
The summer program also features experiences merging heritage and gastronomy, such as ‘Madrid with a taste of history: taverns and century-old shops’, a tour of emblematic historic establishments culminating at the Cuevas de Luis Candelas. Another unique route is ‘Legends and crimes of old Madrid’, exploring the capital's "more hidden and surprising" side through historical and mysterious tales.
Outside the capital, ‘The Royal Town of Navalcarnero, land of wines’ offers a tour of its historic center and ancient wine cellars, including a tasting of wines from the D.O. Vinos de Madrid. These tours, available in Spanish and English, will be conducted in groups of up to 20 people.
Tours within Madrid city will last a maximum of two hours and cost 10 euros per person. Visits to regional municipalities will take about three hours and cost 20 euros, excluding transportation. Reservations are now open on the APIT website.
