This significant investment, spanning the next four years, is allocated for essential services provided by Canal de Isabel II. These funds add to the 135,725,792 euros already awarded by the end of 2025, bringing the total to over 187 million euros for the conservation of approximately 10,000 kilometers of sewerage managed by the public company.
In addition to the extensive sewerage network, the work will also cover the periodic inspection of more than 400,000 manholes and 200,000 storm drains. These tasks are crucial to ensure the proper functioning of the sanitation system in the region's municipalities that have an agreement with Canal de Isabel II, specifically excluding the capital.
The scheduled tasks include cleaning, inspection, and monitoring of collectors, outfalls, and municipal sewerage networks. Furthermore, the plan involves the execution of necessary improvement works and the handling and repair of any incidents that may arise in the infrastructure. In total, the public company is responsible for the proper condition of over 16,000 kilometers of sanitation pipelines, which include both municipal sewerage networks and the large collectors that connect this vast underground system.
