The Community of Madrid is in red alert due to a drastic decrease in blood reserves, currently at 38%, prompting an urgent call for citizens to donate.

Blood types 0+, 0-, A+, A-, B-, and AB- are at critical levels. This situation, common in the summer and worsened by continuous heatwaves, has reduced the stock to 1,913 units, far below the optimal level of 5,000.
The region requires 900 daily donations to maintain normal activity and supply the 70 hospitals in Madrid. Needs are constant for emergencies, treatments, surgical procedures, transplants, and care for accidents or hemorrhages.
The public is reminded that there are 30 hospitals with fixed donation points, as well as mobile units from the Community of Madrid and the Red Cross. The regional Transfusion Center in Valdebernardo and the Red Cross facility at Juan Montalvo street 3, in the capital, also accept donations. Detailed schedules and addresses are available on the official website.
