The 3x3 CaixaBank Circuit has launched its new season in Madrid, transforming Felipe II Square into a vibrant urban basketball hub that brought together over 20,000 attendees and 100 teams.

The event, established as Spain's largest free outdoor urban basketball festival, held its opening day on April 20, 2026. From early morning, Felipe II Square was filled with a festive and family-friendly atmosphere, with nearly 500 male and female players competing in 128 matches.
Children's participation was notable, with 76 teams made up of boys and girls aged 9 to 14, highlighting the circuit's role in promoting grassroots basketball. Competitions ran from 9:00 AM until late afternoon, covering Premini, Mini, Infantil, Senior, and Adult categories.
Driven by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) and CaixaBank, this 2026 edition follows a record-breaking year with over 3,800 participants and 45,000 visitors. Madrid's selection as the inaugural venue reinforces the project's commitment to mass participation, equality, and the social impact of sports.

Court for everyone

This edition introduces imagin, CaixaBank's digital bank for young people, which will feature its own spaces, including a new court and multi-hoop play areas. The circuit maintains its inclusive essence under the motto 'Court for everyone', evolving into a broader concept: “Play and live basketball”. The event also included a fan zone with recreational activities, games, graffiti areas, shaded zones, and open-access courts.
Wheelchair basketball played a prominent role, in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities, reaffirming the commitment to accessibility and integration. Additionally, the #MárcateUnTripleSolidario initiative converted every three-point basket into financial aid for social projects. In Madrid, over 1,000 three-pointers were scored, with proceeds channeled through the La Caixa Foundation to the Baloncesto Sin Rasgos association, supporting the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.
The promotion of women's basketball remains a central focus, with participation reaching nearly 40 percent in some venues. Women's finals will again be held on the Universo Mujer court to showcase young talent. Since its creation in 2012, the 3x3 CaixaBank Circuit has made over 140 stops, gathering nearly 64,000 players and over 475,000 visitors, establishing itself as a benchmark in urban sports and a tool for social transformation.
