The public healthcare system in the Community of Madrid has achieved significant success at the Best in Class 2025 Awards, securing 14 out of the 36 national accolades. This recognition, representing one-third of all awards, underscores the quality and dedication of the region's healthcare professionals.
Eight public hospitals in Madrid have been distinguished in this edition. Among them, Hospital Gregorio Marañón received four recognitions, including an Honorable Mention. The Fundación Jiménez Díaz was awarded three accolades, while Hospital Infanta Elena de Valdemoro garnered two, one of which also included an Honorable Mention.
Other centers that each received an award include the hospitals of Fuenlabrada, Henares (located in Coslada), La Paz, La Princesa, and Villalba. These awards, presented by Gaceta Médica, were delivered at an event concluded by the vice-counselor of Health at the Maternal and Child complex of Hospital Gregorio Marañón.
“"That, year after year, so many centers of our public health system are among the best in Spain, is not an isolated event. It is an indicator of a system that works because there is a critical mass of professionals committed to continuous improvement, who believe in what they do."
These awards add to other international recognitions received by Madrid's public hospitals. The American magazine Newsweek has listed seven centers among the top 250 worldwide, and Forbes has placed six of them among the ten best in Spain.
