The 84th edition of Madrid Fashion Week will be held in September, divided into two events: OMODA Madrid es Moda (until the 10th) and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (from the 14th to the 19th). The clash with the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Ifema Madrid necessitates moving part of the second event's program to the campus of Communication and Arts at Madrid-San Francisco de Sales of the Nebrija University.
The event will feature up to 45 fashion shows and the participation of over 60 national and international designers, including names like Roberto Verino, Devota & Lomba, Adolfo Dominguez, and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. It will be complemented by presentations, open days, performances, and exhibitions in various emblematic locations across the capital.
The opening show, on September 7 at 7:00 PM, will take place in the Sabatini Gardens, aiming to highlight nature and light. The runway will wind through the characteristic vegetation and 18th-century sculptures, taking advantage of one of the city's best sunsets.
OMODA Madrid es Moda will present 12 fashion shows featuring brands such as Adlib Ibiza, Angel Schlesser, Dolores Cortés, Dominnico, and Roberto Verino, among others. It will also include the collaboration Dolores Promesas x Duyos and celebrate the 40th anniversary of Devota & Lomba.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will kick off on September 14 at the Arganzuela Crystal Palace, continuing at the Cibeles Palace, and with the Nebrija University campus serving as the main venue. It will celebrate the tenth anniversary of Palomo and the return of designers like Moisés Nieto and Alvarno.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will recognize the most outstanding national designer Hannibal Laguna and the international firm Agua by Agua Bendita. The Madrid City Council supports the event with €650,000 for its financing and allocates €1.3 million for designer subsidies. An economic and media return of approximately €100 million is expected.
The delegate for Economy, Innovation, and Treasury, Engracia Hidalgo, highlighted that these events "strengthen the city's global positioning, boost the creative industry, and consolidate fashion as a relevant sector of the Madrid brand," by "betting on merging the avant-garde and talent of our designers with the capital's cultural heritage."
