The city of Madrid hosted Pope Leo XIV this Saturday in a day marked by the massive turnout of faithful and citizens across various locations in the Spanish capital.

The Pontiff landed at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, where he was received by state authorities and representatives of the Community of Madrid. Following his arrival, he moved to the Royal Palace for the official welcome ceremony, attended by the Royal Family.
During his first official speech, the Pope called for harmony and unity, urging society to overcome divisive narratives. The Pontiff emphasized that stability and prosperity are built through cooperation rather than confrontation.

It is not the culture of confrontation, but that of encounter, which generates stability and prosperity.

The day included a visit to the CEDIA 24 HORAS social center run by Cáritas Diocesana. The largest gathering took place at Plaza de Lima and the surroundings of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, where thousands of young people participated in a massive vigil.
The agenda continues this Sunday with a solemn mass at Plaza de Cibeles at 10:00 AM, followed by a meeting with civil society at the Movistar Arena in the afternoon.
