The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved an investment of 2 million euros aimed at the priority hiring of unemployed people in the areas most affected by the forest fires in the Sierra Oeste. The goal is for these workers to join the recovery efforts in the damaged zones and contribute to the revitalization of these localities.
These direct subsidies, part of a broader reconstruction plan for the Sierra Oeste, will finance salary expenses, Social Security contributions, and training costs. The contracts will have a duration of between four and six months and must be formalized before December 31st.
To facilitate access to employment services, the Mobile Employment Office (Empleabús) will be launched. This mobile resource will bring its services closer to citizens facing mobility difficulties due to the effects of the fires. The route will begin in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, and a schedule will be established to cover other affected municipalities.
Additionally, the Community of Madrid has implemented the automatic renewal of employment demand for residents affected by the emergency, a measure that will extend until September 15th.
