The sky over Madrid was illuminated by a synchronized aerial choreography of a thousand drones, an unprecedented milestone in Spain. For twelve minutes, the swarm of devices recreated iconic images of the region, such as the Puerta del Sol, the Palacio de Cristal, the Monasterio de El Escorial, the Palacio Real de Aranjuez, and the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, as well as cultural references to Goya.
This display, which combined history, culture, and technological innovation, gathered thousands of people in the Cuña Verde park, in Madrid's Latina district. The free and open-to-the-public event offered a unique visual experience and marked a new turning point in the development of aerial shows in Spain.
“"The show demonstrates how far the combination of engineering, software, and creativity can go when applied to large-format events. Operating 1000 drones simultaneously requires a technical and operational capability that places this type of production at a new level."
The execution of the show involved high precision and coordination, using advanced navigation systems, real-time control, and strict safety protocols. The Community of Madrid relied on a leading drone show company in Europe, which has performed over 500 shows worldwide and flown more than 40,000 drones in 2025 alone.
This strategic commitment aims to project the Madrid brand as a global city that invests in innovation and sustainability for major events. The responsible company, entirely Spanish-owned, is the only one in the sector in the country that manufactures its own drones for shows at its headquarters in Alcorcón, consolidating itself as one of the main companies in Europe by production volume.
