The Community of Madrid commemorated this Friday the 40th anniversary of the ETA attack at the junction of Juan Bravo and Príncipe de Vergara streets, an event that killed five Civil Guard agents and injured eleven.

The tribute ceremony took place at the site of the attack, where the regional minister of Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, laid a bouquet of white flowers in memory of those affected.

"All Spaniards have a permanent debt of memory, justice, and dignity with the victims of terrorism that is not erased by the passage of time or by silence."

During his speech, the minister emphasized the importance of keeping the memory of the victims alive, especially in the current context. He highlighted concerns about the release of ETA prisoners and the celebration of tributes to former members of the group, as well as the political role of their heirs.
The regional government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting victims of terrorism and preserving their memory as a fundamental part of Spain's recent history.
