The Madrid City Council allocates 296,000 euros annually to the CEDIA 24-hour shelter, located in the Lucero neighborhood, to ensure comprehensive care for homeless individuals.

The center, managed by Cáritas Diocesana de Madrid, receives municipal funding that covers 40% of its operating budget. This resource is part of the capital's social services network and operates continuously throughout the day.
The facilities in the Latina district are divided into two main areas: a day center with 95 spots for basic needs and professional support, and two overnight accommodation centers with 67 spots separated by gender. During 2025, the service assisted more than 2,500 people.
The financial contribution is part of an annual agreement signed with FACIAM, a network that brings together 20 non-profit social entities. This agreement, in place since 1989, allows for the co-financing of vulnerability care programs involving various charitable organizations in the city.
