The event, titled 'Madrid en el Cielo' (Madrid in the Sky), took place from Parque de la Cuña Verde, in the Latina district, which is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. The initiative was promoted by the regional government in collaboration with the company Indra.
During the exhibition, ten scenes were projected, forming up to 16 different figures inspired by the rich history, symbols, and heritage of the Community of Madrid. Among the representations were the Puerta del Sol, the Palacio de Cristal, the Monasterio de El Escorial, the Palacio Real de Aranjuez, and the University of Alcalá de Henares.
The show also included distinctive elements of Madrid's cultural identity, such as a couple dancing chotis, the Community flag, and a sequence showing the evolution of the capital over time. The drones, operated by the Madrid-based company Umiles, reached a height of up to 200 meters, allowing the show to be visible from a distance of up to two kilometers from its launch point.
