After a few days of respite from extreme heat, maximum temperatures in the capital will rise again this weekend. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has warned of a day of "intense heat" for Sunday, with forecasts placing thermometers above 35 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures will also offer no relief, remaining around 20 degrees Celsius in the capital.
Across the Community of Madrid in general, an increase in both minimum and maximum temperatures is expected. Nights will register values between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will range between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Sunday is shaping up to be the hottest day, with a progressive rise in temperatures. Minimums are predicted to be above 20 degrees Celsius in the capital, and maximums are expected to exceed 30 degrees Celsius in almost all localities, settling between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius.
Regarding the skies, Saturday will be mostly clear with intervals of high clouds, which could develop into scattered clouds in the Sierra region in the afternoon. The wind will be light and variable. For Sunday, skies are expected to be mostly clear, with some high clouds in the early morning and possible diurnal evolution clouds in the Sierra and southeastern plains from midday onwards. The wind will remain light and variable, with a southerly component prevailing during the central hours of the day.
