The San Isidro 2026 Festival comes to an end this Sunday, May 17th, with a program designed to bid farewell to the city's patron saint with a wide range of offerings. The day will combine Madrid's tradition, featuring regional dances and classic cuplé, with more current genres like indie rock and avant-garde flamenco, culminating in an innovative fireworks display.
The morning will be marked by shared tradition and family gatherings in the center of Madrid. At the Jardines de las Vistillas, the Federation of Traditional Madrid Groups (FGTM) will celebrate its 37th anniversary with children's games, workshops, carnation distribution, and traditional castizo snacks. In parallel, the Plaza Mayor will host the 73rd Showcase of Regional Houses, where various groups will represent folklore from different autonomous communities.
The afternoon will continue at Parque de San Isidro in Carabanchel, featuring an interactive children's show, Poetic Jousts reviving the Golden Age heritage, and a street party enlivened by the Grupo Manchester. The iconic cuplet singer Olga María Ramos will offer a journey through Madrid's Belle Époque at the Jardines de las Vistillas, while the Roger de Flor Senior Center will perform a line dancing exhibition in the Pradera.
The night will culminate with major simultaneous live performances starting at 8:00 PM. The Plaza Mayor will host Las Migas and the duo Montoya & Carmona. In the Pradera de San Isidro, the independent rock of La Paloma will give way to the hip hop and pop fusion of Xavibo. The Jardines de las Vistillas will feature a special closing session by Ochoymedio DJ Set, and Matadero Madrid will come alive with the Orquesta Panther Show.
The festival will officially conclude at 11:00 PM with the grand Fireworks Display. Under the conceptual theme «Resplandor» (Radiance), designer José Luis Giménez Clemente has created a pyrotechnic spectacle exclusively for the skies of Madrid, promising unprecedented visual effects.
